Sales Coordinator

A full-time post based at our office in Hertford. Flexible or reduced hours to meet family or other commitments can be offered to the right candidate.

We need somebody to help us target prospects for our subscription service. As a specialist service to the financial community, the successful candidate should have an understanding of the role of professional investment institutions and those that work within them.

As well as researching potential subscribers in different countries, the role requires initial contact by letter or email which will be followed up by telephone with a view to making an appointment. Thereafter, monitoring the sales process at every stage including trials and contracts through to invoicing.

Since our products are increasingly international, knowledge of European languages would be an advantage. Salary is dependent on experience and can include a bonus scheme linked to revenue generated where appropriate. Whilst primarily office based, more experienced candidates will have the opportunity to attend and conduct client meetings.

As with all roles, good PC skills are essential and the ability to work on own initiative. For this role a relaxed and confident telephone manner is also important.

Undergraduate or Graduate Internship

We are seeking an intern to join us for a short period during the summer of 2010.

Career Development Prospects
Inquisitive candidates would glean a keen understanding of global equity markets as well as an understanding of the role of Financial Institutions.

The opportunity to research quoted companies and stock exchange listings would give a valuable insight into the processes involved in the equity market and an understanding of the terminology used.

Anyone planning to follow a City career on graduation would find this opportunity valuable.

Skills Required
Candidates will require excellent PC skills and must be competent with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programmes.

Responsibilities
Researching and updating data on the following: Director names, titles, salaries, bonuses, options and so on. Data will be entered onto our database using proprietary tools. Data is sourced from online news items, corporate and other websites, annual reports etc.

Carrying out ad-hoc analysis on our data and other development projects as required.

Salary
Although the role is primarily to help students get an insight into the Financial markets with a view to a future career, the work is on-the-job learning rather than a structured internship programme. Thus the successful student will be treated as an employee and paid a daily rate plus expenses.
